The Living In Place Institute is an educational organization devoted to increasing knowledge and awareness for professionals and other influencer's about increased safety and accessibility in all homes, allowing current and future occupants to continue to Live In Place comfortably and safely regardless of their age or medical condition. These professionals take a 2-day extensive certification training and then have access to a powerful electronic tool to help them conduct home assessments for accessibility and safety.
The key topic of this training is for professionals to establish interprofessional teams to help their clients get the best solutions to their needs. These teams include:

Design Professionals, including Kitchen & Bath Designers, Interior Designers and Architects

The Living in Place Team
Erik Listou, CLIPP, CAPS, CAASH, CGR, CGP, CR, LDST Erik, as Co-Founder of the Living In Place Institute, is committed to helping people live in homes that are accessible, comfortable and safe. His $100M+ career spans 50 years in both commercial and residential construction and renovation. Erik has been recognized through national certifications and leadership awards. His energy and skills have focused for decades through industry and consumer education through presentations, radio, television and print, most recently in the NY Times. Now, through the Living In Place Institute he brings his energy and knowledge to the forefront of industry and consumer attention. Erik and his wife live in the mountains of Colorado and enjoy visiting with thousands of children, of all ages, during the December holidays.
Louie Delaware, MBA, BSME, CLIPP, CAPS, ACPC Louie is the Co-Founder of the Living In Place Institute and passionate about helping people make their homes accessible, comfortable and safe. His early career included 22 years in advanced research and development for medical and analytical devices. Recognized by the prestigious International R&D 100 Award for Advanced Technologies Louie has been awarded many related patents. In 2004, Louie founded US Safety Pros, providing services in over 3,000 homes from childproofing, radon testing and mitigation, through home accessibility and home safety and was published in USA Today. A devoted husband and father, Louie lives just outside Boulder, Colorado with his wife and their three whippet racing dogs!
